Marian Rivera as Darna- The latest reincarnation of the Mars Ravelo komiks superhero, Marian Rivera as Darna! which is set to soar sometime in August at GMA’s telebabad. Marian Rivera has been selected by Wilma Galvante GMA's SVP for Entertainment TV to take the lead rule in Darna. "She's having fun on her new rule". Marina Rivera with the Darna cast are now so busy taping the series for the upcoming opening next month. Marina Rivera as Darna will fly on your tv screen this August 2009.The new Darna is unlike the rest. Production designer Chito Sumera claims, (who also acted as one in the Nanette Medved version, produced by Viva Films): “The production design in this Darna is timeless. It showcases the original Filipino heroine in actual Philippine setting — country look, that is, some sort of Amorsolo-postcard look yet colorful with a comic attack! so it’s more realistic. Generally, the over-all production design will support and enhance the story on the visual level. Possible locales are San Miguel (Bulacan), Nueva Ecija and Pampanga. Darna is memorable to me because it (the Nanette Medved version) was my first showbiz job as art director.”
