Soul/R&B singer Heather Headley has been summoned to fill Whitney Houston’s classic film role when she stars in the stage musical adaptation of 'The Bodyguard' in London. The “In My Mind” hitmaker, who led a workshop for the musical last month, has been greenlit for a second for January 2012, reports The Daily Mail.
The Musical is expected to open at the end of 2012 in the West End (London) and will be produced by Thea Sharrock.
Headley, who was born in Trinidad, previously won acclaim for her role of Nala in The Lion King and as Aida on Broadway. She won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for Aida.
