Ana "Hurricane" Julaton Lost to Lisa "Bad News" Brown

I watched with my kuya Danny last sunday the Filipino women boxer Ana Julaton fight Lisa Brown for the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) female super bantamweight crown . During initial round, our own Ana has a good start but the precision blows and accidental head butts results to unanimous victory for brown. Ana fought hard and even smile during the fight and readily accepted her fate. She was totally outbox by Lisa Brown but stay on up to the last round showing great sportmanship. But courage and determination was no match to battle hardened veteran like Lisa Brown. We salute Ana Julaton for her great fight, good sportsmanship and gallantry in ring. Hope she will fight again soon.

Mabuhay ka Ana!!!

Shots pda cam only Sorry for the low resolution

For more detailed news of the fight, read story below...

Lisa Brown delivered the “Bad News” for Filipino fight fans all the way from Canada.

Living up to her moniker, Brown put on a superb display of punching power to spoil Filipino-American Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton’s world title ambitions Sunday with a unanimous decision victory in their showdown for the WBA women’s super bantamweight title at the Casino Rama in Ontario, Canada.

Bloodied and outboxed, the 29-year-old Julaton fought bravely in the last four rounds despite being cut on both eyes after an accidental headbutt in the fifth and sixth rounds.

Julaton’s gallant stand in the late rounds brought back memories of a bloodied Manny Pacquiao showing tremendous fighting spirit against Erik Morales in a fight the Filipino boxer lost in 2005.

A 10-year pro who has fought some of the world’s best female boxers, Brown —originally from Trinidad and Tobago but is now based in Toronto—dictated the pace in the 10-round fight.

The judges scored it, 100-90, 99-91 and 99-92, all for Brown, who captured her fifth world title while denying Julaton a third world crown.

Though Julaton got off to a promising start, landing a couple of heavy blows in the first two rounds, she could do little to stop the 39-year-old Brown, who worked behind solid jabs.

Trained by Nonito Donaire Sr., Julaton, who traces her roots to Pangasinan, fell to her second loss in nine fights. Her first defeat came in another title fight against Dominga Olivo in 2008.

“I’m disappointed at the outcome but I’m very proud of my daughter,” said Julaton’s father, Cesar Jr., who is in the Philippines for a short vacation.

The elder Julaton watched the fight at the GMA Network Center in Quezon City together with friends and relatives.

“She was matched up against a veteran,” Cesar, a taekwondo blackbelter like his daughter, said.

“But she showed a lot of courage and determination as she kept on fighting despite the cut. It’s a learning experience for her.”

Mikoyan MiG-29M Aircraft

Mikoyan MiG-29M AircraftThe Mikoyan MiG-29M (Russian: Микоян МиГ-35, NATO reporting name "Fulcrum-E") is a mature development of the MiG-29M/M2 and MiG-29K/KUB technology. Formerly known as the "MiG-33", it was developed from the Mikoyan MiG-29 (NATO: "Fulcrum") fighter jet during mid-1980s. The MiG-29M is sometimes called the Super Fulcrum. In the mid-1980s, a development of the original MiG-29 was proposed to meet the Soviet western front line requirement. It was required to be a multi-role fighter for the front line defensive air force to gain offensive strike ability. This development resulted in a single seat and a double seat variant. The proposal was then grounded as a result of shift in military strategy. The model was named "MiG-33" and later received the MiG-29ME designation for export market in the mid-1990s. A twin seat model of the standard, commonly known as the MiG-29MRCA, was the MAPO-MiG's primary contender for many international fighter aircraft bids, later evolved into the Mikoyan MiG-35. Six of these models were built before 1990. They were constantly upgraded with various components and one received experimental vector thrust engines which eventually became the MiG-29OVT. The model was again renamed as MiG-29M. The MiG-29M/M2 now belongs to the "New unified family" instead of the "MiG-29 fighters family" which comprise the older variants.

Chengdu J-7 Aircraft

Chengdu J-7 Aircraft
The Chengdu Jian-7 (export versions F-7) is a People's Republic of China-built version of the Soviet Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21. Though production ceased in 2008 it continues to serve, mostly as an interceptor, in several air forces. In the 1950s and early 1960s, the Soviet Union shared most of its conventional weapons technology with the People's Republic of China. One of these was the limited cooperation between the two countries in the early stage development of the famous MiG-21 short-range interceptor-fighter aircraft. Powered by a single engine and designed on a simple airframe, these fighters were inexpensive but fast, suiting the strategy of forming large groups of 'people's fighters' to overcome the technological advantages of Western aircraft.

Younger of the Klitschkos One of the Greats?

With two reigns as champion, Wladimir Klitschko is closing in on the all-time greats.

Say what you will about IBF/WBO heavyweight titlist Wladimir Klischko - but numbers don't lie.

While many within the sport denigrate the accomplishments of the younger of the fighting Klitschko brothers, what is becoming clear is that he is beginning to put up some legitimate numbers when it comes to defending his heavyweight titles and the length of time he has held those belts.

It is likely that no heavyweight fighter will ever replicate or surpass the gold standard numbers of Joe Louis. The "Brown Bomber" held the heavyweight championship of the world for a little over 11 years and 8 months. He defended the championship an amazing 25 times.

Only Larry Holmes at 20 successful title defenses and Muhammad Ali at 19 have come close to Louis' all-time mark. Neither man, who each held the heavyweight championship a little over 7 years are close to Louis' nearly 12-year reign.

Kllitschko, with two reigns as a heavyweight belt holder, has defended those belts 13 times. That ranks him fifth all-time behind Louis, Holmes, Ali and Lennox Lewis who chalked up 14 title defenses.

The younger Klitschko, whose brother Vitali currently holds the WBC belt, has also held his titles for just over six years. Only Louis, Ali, Holmes and Jack Dempsey have held the title for a longer period of time.

Klitschko then, is in hall of fame company. Granted, the heavyweight championship of the world isn't what it used to be, but what is in this day and age?

But before we say that Klitschko has faced a series of no-hopers, you have to ask yourself this: Was Joe Louis' "Bum of the Month Club" that featured defenses against names such as Red Burman, Gus Dorazio or Tony Musto any more impressive than Ali's defenses against the likes of Jean-Pierre Coopman, Richard Dunn or Alfedo Evangelista? Were Holmes' defenses against the likes of Lorenzo Zanon, Scott LeDoux and Leroy Jones better than those that Lennox Lewis made against Phil Jackson, Henry Akinwande or Zeljko Mavrovic?

Whatever the case, Klitschko is closing in on some historical all-time numbers. He's fifth all-time in title defenses and fifth all-time in length of reign.

Maybe he isn't so bad after all.

Joe Louis - 25 title defenses - Reigned 11 years, 8 months, 9 days

Muhammad Ali - 19 title defenses - Reigned 7 years, 5 months, 10 days

Larry Holmes - 20 title defenses - Reigned 7 years, 3 months, 12 days

Jack Dempsey - 6 title defenses - Reigned 7 years, 2 months, 19 days

Wladimir Klitschko - 13 title defenses - Reigned 6 years, 4months (current)

Lennox Lewis - 14 title defenses - Reigned 6 years, 2months, 14 days

"What we do in life echoes in eternity."

"What we do in life echoes in eternity." This was the qoute that summed up Manny Pacquiao speech during acceptance of his award as athlete of the decade at the event 10th Gabriel "Flash" Elorde Annual Memorial Awards-Banquet of Champions. During the event he even stood up and gave envelop to wheelchair bound Zeta Celestino Oliveros Gorres or Z "The Dream" Gorres. A humble act for a sports icon and hero like him.

Pacquiao pays it forward
By By Izah Morales, Yahoo! Southeast Asia Friday March 26, 2010 06:44 pm PHT

Everyone looks up to him as their hero, their own personal idol. Everyone wants to have their photo taken with him. He was feted like a rock star at the 10th Gabriel "Flash" Elorde Annual Memorial Awards-Banquet of Champions.

But in spite of being surrounded by fans, Manny Pacquiao stood up from his table and approached Zeta Celestino Oliveros Gorres or Z "The Dream" Gorres, who collapsed after his victory against Colombian Luis Melendez in November 2009.

Pacquiao chatted with the wheelchair-bound Gorres for a few minutes before handing him an envelope and quietly returned to his table to continue signing autographs for fans who lined up to get some one-on-one time with this living legend.

"Masaya ako at nakabalik na si Z-Gorres dito sa Pilipinas. Naniniwala ako na ang Pilipinong boksingero ay matibay, malakas at matatag, [I'm happy that Z Gorres is back here in the Philippines. I have faith that Filipino boxers are strong.]" said Pacquiao, who was awarded as Boxer of the Decade on March 25, 2010, incidentally the 25th death anniversary of Hall of Famer Gabriel "Flash" Elorde.

In his thanksgiving speech Pacquiao said, "We all desire to have a sense of meaning, a sense of purpose, a sense of contribution. We all desire to leave a legacy."

"Isang napakalaking karangalan ang iginawad nyo sa akin ngayong gabi. Ito'y hindi ko makakalimutan habang ako'y nabubuhay, [You have bestowed a great honor upon me tonight. Something I will never forget for as long as I live.]," he added.

Pacquiao told Yahoo! Southeast Asia that he wanted to pay it forward through supporting Filipino boxers.

"May mga boksingero akong hawak ngayon. Tinutulungan ko sila sa promotional company ko, ‘yung MP promotions. Tinutulungan natin silang lumaban sa abroad, sa Amerika, [I'm helping young boxers through my promotional company called MP promotions, which paves the way for them to fight outside the Philippines.]" said Pacquiao.

Pacquiao recognized other boxers' effort who brought honor to the country.

"Sa bawat laban ko, ang aking hangad ay makapagbigay ng karangalan sa ating bansa. Hindi lamang ako kung, hindi lahat ng boksingero ngayon dito ay nakapagbigay ng karangalan, [In every fight, I strive to bring honor to the country. All the boxers present here this evening have given honor to the country.]" said Pacquiao.

Regaining my Post in Blog Ranking with sideline politicking opinion

My blog a year ago has been consistently on the 38th spot in philippine ranking. With my lesser blogging activities keeps my ranking lowering down to 150 up which is quite away from my previous ranking. During the past days i decided to regain my old ranking if not at least near to it. I`l be posting with general interest which will the traffic to my site.

Back to politics..When the recent admission old a high religious leader regarding the diversion of C5 extention project. We could feel the Greed for money penetrated even the most respected religious leader and groups. We could tell interest for more wealth and power. The struggle for vanity and fame. Plitic patronage and corruption. We could not deny that in this world, money = power and little we would know if you were rich you can enjoy it once in your lifetime. Human nature of insatisfaction always prevail thats why there is corruption specially in our government. Its a human nature of not getting sattisfied although you have it all. Funny to think that most criminal commit crime just to feed themselves and survive while the well off out there wants to get some more ,not more but billion of pesos. A rich religious leader should spent it wise. Imagine how many poor people would benifit in 1.2 billion peso. If your man of God, spend it and don`t put it in investment where in the end you can not Justify in front of God when rapture comes. Using religion in politics is not new in the philippines. Even some religious sector have grip on the power by delivering solid votes, some leader was made even as presidential adviser. But nonetheless, i know we voters were more mature now. Vote what we think will be good for us because we have one more shots otherwise sa kankungan na naman tayo pupulutin pagdating sa pag unlad..

Manny Villar Website Got Hacked?

Caught my attention was tonight news in GMA7 Saksi regarding Manny Villar Site got Hacked. I made an inquiry in the site of supposedly hacked site of Manny Villar. For me, It was not hacked otherwise it will be closed forever and may never recovered it or more anti villar statements would be published. My opinion was that the site administrator relax in his job, in short "natulog sa pansitan". Parang comment sa youtube yan pag may comment only the site admin and the the one who posted could erase it. Cyberwar is here because the election is near so everyone including non partisan hacker or cyber adventurer would be waiting for right oppurtunity to shine in the cyberworld. Make fun of it. Every politician is a moving target. The easiest way fI assume to get the hacking done was to have an inside man in web server provider for domain name such as .ph .com .net etc (take the lesson of sulit.com.ph got hacked years ago) where they have an access to site password in the in every subscriber. Brute attack, trojan, snipper etc was very active these days. See my hacker tools on this site to educate yourselves.
Traffic was high for the usage as election near. Also social network site such as facebook, twitter etc were overwelmed by ghost identity to boost every candidate`s comment and fan activity.
Let get back to the topic. What the supposed hacker did was to insert "kris aquino comment" which is very easy and can stay there in the page as long as it not noted and deleted by the site admin.

Excerpts from the alledged hacked website
"Omigosh kalerky to the max. Imagine, may I gamit pa mga kids sa commercial to make sipsip to the poor. Pano naman kaming mga riichhh! Wala ba candidate na magpapakatotoo “For the rich, because I am rich!” Dapat ganun devah! Love it! So many eklat and whatnot. Why pa magpakahirap sa business kung mas mataas kita sa government di ba? Like I said to Boy regarding sa interview nila, “Taas ng TF, Amiiinin!”. Text text nyo naman me at makapag lamierda tayo! Love it!"

I don`t think it would post a positive to Noynoy Camp rather it would an issue against them . Most probably the "hacker daw" was just having fun.
Now, mannyvillar.com.ph was not accesible maybe they are making maintenance of it. But the supposed hack attack was discussed in another manny villar site which is http://www.mannyvillar.net/

Politics is Dirty and latest addition to its war collection (word war, character war, media war) is finnaly here. POLITICS CYBERWAR!!

Basta ako ang Sagot OPO. Vote for Gordon..Jejejeje

Manny Villar Commercials

I am not a fan of Manny Villar infact I will Vote for Gordon but i found all his commercial catchy because of its lyrics, rythym and adorable kids singing it..
Here is the Lyrics ang Song..Is it for Villar talaga? Well spending billions (2 billions) in commercial, you can`t blame me to think a Businessman like villar how to get the profit for his investment (spending in elections)...Maybe out of public service, he give it free not thinking how to get it back..Well only his heart will tell..Lets see if he wins!!
Ipinanganak kang mahirap
Patuloy na nangangarap
Magsipag at magtiyaga
Balang araw aahon ka
Hindi bawal mangarap
Ang mahirap
Basta’t maaabot ito
Sa malinis na paraan
Si Villar ay nangarap
Kahit mahirap
At nagtiwala sa Maykapal
At may paninindigan

ETO naman gawa ng mga anti villar fanatics..funny..jejeje

Good Big Men and Good Little Men

Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey are smiling in this picture, but Saturday night will be a different story.

One of boxing’s most famous axioms is this: “A good big man will always beat a good little man.”

In this case the “little” man happens to be great - but that’s not going to change the outcome when Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey step into the ring at Cowboys Stadium on Saturday night.

What I have learned about the sport of boxing over the course of a lifetime spent observing is that just when a fighter appears totally invincible - is also the point at which he is most susceptible.

Don’t believe me? Ask Sonny Liston about Cassius Clay. Ask George Foreman about Muhammad Ali. Ask Mike Tyson about Buster Douglas. Ask Roy Jones, Jr. about Antonio Tarver.

Call me crazy - but I think Clottey stands a real shot of achieving the impossible when he steps into the ring with Manny Pacquiao.

I’ve seen both Pacquiao and Clottey fight in person recently. Last June, I was seated four rows back from the ring, just behind the legendary Budd Schulberg, when Clottey “lost” a 12-round split-decision to Miguel Cotto at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

I scored the fight 115-113 for Clottey and I was one of the few that really believed that Clottey did more than enough to deserve the nod against Cotto.

I was eleven rows back from the ring last November, seated with Tony Paige, when Manny Pacquiao knocked out the same Miguel Cotto in 12 rounds at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Manny looked good in that fight, he won and he impressed.

But Manny showed some vulnerabilities in the ring against Cotto. I’ll touch on those later.

Pacquiao pounded Miguel Cotto into submission when they met in November at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

So, I’ve been up close to both guys. I’ve been to Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Club on Vine St. in Hollywood to see Manny in training. I congratulate him for all that he has accomplished and I feel he is the best thing to happen to the sport of boxing in years.

But the bottom line is this: I think Joshua Clottey scores the upset win on Saturday night. Now, before you call me a Manny Pacquiao hater - hear me out.

Although Pacquiao is now competing as a 147-pound welterweight, he is really the furthest thing from a true welterweight fighter. True welterweights were the two “Sugar” Ray’s - Robinson and Leonard. They were larger men who stood 5’11” and 5’10” tall respectively. Pacquiao, who turned pro at 106 pounds, is a small man who stands in the vicinity of 5’6”.

Joshua Clottey is a true welterweight and in my humble opinion, the first true welterweight that Manny will have ever faced. While only a couple of inches taller than Pacquiao, he has the upper body of a middleweight. Furthermore, he may be able to take the punch of a light heavyweight.

Putting Pacquiao’s recent wins into perspective, you must consider that his victory over De La Hoya was against a weight-drained, over-the-hill, shell of his former self prizefighter. Miguel Cotto was coming off a brutal knockout loss at the hands of Antonio Margarito and another fight in which I thought he lost and took a beating in against Clottey. When he and Pacquiao met - it was at a catch-weight of 145 pounds. Besides that, Cotto himself is really a career 140-pounder who stands only 5’7” tall and had fought just 9 times at 147, officially losing two of those fights.

Clottey is the biggest and strongest opponent that Manny Pacquiao will have faced in his prizefighting career.

Joshua Clottey will be the first real, true, legitimate welterweight that Pacquiao has ever faced. Clottey has spent his career at 147. In between bouts he comfortably walks around at 175 pounds. While he is the larger man he is also the stronger man. He is used to taking the punches of bigger men than Pacquiao. At welterweight, Joshua Clottey is physically imposing.

Furthermore, Clottey can take a punch. The best punches of Cotto, Antonio Margarito, Zab Judah and Diego Corrales haven’t bothered him too much. While he suffered a knockdown against Cotto in the first round (from a left jab, no less) he rarely stumbles or wobbles when hit. He seems to have a rock solid chin and a tight defense.

Pacquiao, on the other hand, can be hit and he can be hurt. Cotto was able to reach him on several occasions. While Pacquiao is exquisite on offense, his defense leaves something to be desired. He often rushes in, leaving himself wide open for counter shots. He seems susceptible to punches that come from underneath. Not necessarily uppercuts, but shots that start low and come upwards that meet him as he is coming in. Pacquiao’s style leaves him open up the middle. I believe that is where Clottey will find success on Saturday night.

I see the fight playing out with Pacquiao looking very good in the first few rounds. His quickness and speed will make Clottey appear slow and off balance. But remember that Clottey is a slow starter who takes a few rounds to get warmed up.

Clottey proved against Zab Judah that he has no problem fighting southpaws. He also proved against Judah that he can handle speed and quickness. I believe that once Clottey settles into a rhythm he will begin to get closer to Pacquiao and back him up. Clottey will be the stronger, larger man and I don’t think Manny will be able to hurt him like he was able to hurt De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton and Cotto.

Freddie Roach has turned Pacquiao into an offensive machine. But what about defense?

And one other thing - Manny Pacquiao cannot fight backing up.

Freddie Roach has taught Manny many, many things. But a few areas where I have seen a weakness in Pacquiao is defense and fighting while backing up. He also has not been taught how to hold on when hurt. I’ve spent some time at the Wild Card and in the sessions I have seen there with Freddie and Manny - nary a second was spent on anything except offense.

As the fight wears on I see Manny landing the greater volume of shots - but Clottey landing the harder and heavier shots - the shots that will ultimately count. Clottey is durable. He should be able to weather the shots that Pacquiao will land.

Manny is hittable - and like I alluded to earlier - his defense is not impenetrable. Those heavier, harder, though infrequent shots by Clottey will begin to take their toll on the smaller Pacquiao. I look for Clottey to be a good 10-15 pounds heavier than Pacquiao on fight night and I believe that will ultimately prove to be the difference.

By the time the bout passes the midway point I believe any momentum Pacquiao will have built up will begin to ebb. It is then that Clottey will begin to break down the smaller man. Once Clottey begins to gain the upper hand, my feeling is that he will not give up his advantage and will then begin to impose his will on Pacquiao. Once Pacquiao begins to back up, the fight will be over.

I have always been of the belief that the best punch to use in order to defeat a southpaw is the straight right hand. Clottey has an interesting right hand shot. He sometimes fires it in a corkscrew like manner and when he does it is usually thrown as a lead. I look for him to land that shot somewhere around the 10th or 11th round. It is the punch that will unravel the Pac Man and propel Clottey to one of the most startling boxing upsets of the past decade.

In the end, Manny Pacquiao will simply have bitten off a little more than he can chew - and a good big man will have defeated a great little man.

Devon Alexander Feels No Pressure

Juan Urango (left) and Devon Alexander will square off Saturday night at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conecticut.

The roadwork, the sparring and the gym sessions are now over with. All that remains is the fight.

One of St. Louis' favorite sons, unbeaten WBC super lightweight beltholder Devon Alexander "The Great" 19-0 (12) KO from St. Louis, Missouri arrived Monday at the Mohegan Sun.

After a Las Vegas-based training camp that lasted eight weeks, Alexander, 23, is now undergoing the final preparations for his world championship unification match on Saturday night at this sprawling casino.

In an attempt to unify the championship and win his second world title, Alexander will face off against IBF junior welterweight titlist Juan "Iron Twin" Urango, 22-2-1, (17) KO from Monteria, Colombia now fighting out of Cooper City, Florida.

"The boxing world knows Juan Urango as a slugger, a brawler and I've looked at plenty of his tapes. I know what he's coming in the ring to do," says the soft-spoken Alexander.

Both fighters are left-handed and while that causes problems for some, Alexander claims it will be no problem for him as he makes his second appearance in a Conneticut ring as a prizefighter.

"Him being a southpaw is not an issue," claims Alexander. "I've been sparring with Cory Spinks [son of Leon and a two-time world champion] since I was 14-years-old. Cory is one of the slickest southpaws in the world, so Urango being a southpaw is not going to be a problem."

Under the watchful eye of trainer Kevin Cunningham, Alexander has developed from a boy, to a man, to a world-class boxer.

Many observers feel one of the factors that could present a problem for Alexander is the fact that Urango is one of the largest, strongest and hardest punching fighters in the world at 140-pounds. Urango has the physique of a man twenty-five pounds heavier and has the appearance of a bodybuilder.

"As far as the power, I've been in fights with guys way bigger than me, way stronger than me my whole career, so that's not a factor. What's going to kill Urango is my speed and my energy level. There's nothing he's going to do that's going to stop me from going out there and unfying my belt."

Alexander is trained by former police officer Kevin Cunningham, who recruited Alexander into boxing when he was on security detail in the early 90s at the North St. Louis elementary school Alexander attended. The duo have been together since Alexander was 7-years-old and as a result, Alexander claims he is well-prepared for any opponent and any eventuality in the ring.

"No pressure on me, because I saw Cory become an undisputed champion," says Alexander. "I've been bred to be in the spotlight. I've been bred to be one of the best fighters in the world, so no pressure at all."
